Biography

David Ewing was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 1973, and the Florida Bar in 1967.  David holds a business administration degree from Clarkson University (B.B.A. 1964), a law degree from the University of Florida (J.D. 1967), and a masters in tax law from New York University (L.L.M. 1972).  He served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy JAGC in San Diego, California from 1968-1971 with primary practice in court-martials and criminal proceedings, including judging and appellate review.

David practices in tax and business law and became of counsel to the firm in 2000.  Although primarily representing closely held businesses and wealthy families, he has represented banks, publicly held corporations, medical groups and individuals in purchase and sale transactions, employee benefit plans, contracts, tax advantaged real estate investments, real estate sales and exchanges and tax controversy matters. 

His practice has an emphasis on tax planning and implementation in estate planning and administration of estates and trusts, partnerships and corporate business transactions.  He has had tax articles published in national law journals and has been a speaker at numerous legal and accounting seminars.
