Callison Tighe has experience in civil and criminal trials in all federal and state courts in South Carolina, as well as the many administrative agencies in the state.  The firm’s lawyers have appeared before the Courts of Common Pleas and General Sessions, Federal District Courts of South Carolina, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, the United States Supreme Court, the South Carolina Administrative Law Court, South Carolina Public Service Commission, South Carolina Human Affairs Commission, the South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing & Regulation, and the South Carolina Workers Compensation Commission.

Members of the firm were lead counsel in one of the longest civil jury trials in a state court in the history of South Carolina.  The firm’s attorneys have tried hundreds of cases, with conclusions that include jury verdicts, arbitration awards and non-jury judgments in complex business matters, securities litigation, disputes involving employment contracts and matters involving health insurance, disability insurance and retirement benefits arising under federal Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA).

In addition, the firm has a history of handling title insurance claims for numerous regional and national title insurance companies, and disputes involving real property.  The firm regularly works with non-lawyer professionals such as accounting and financial experts to assist clients.

Callison Tighe’s roster of attorneys includes those who have clerked for trial and appellate judges in both state and federal courts.  Several have served in the military.  Others have experience in business and other areas beyond the practice of law.  This combination of experiences helps the firm’s attorneys to understand challenges facing their clients.
